Hi, I’m Eris Norman.  I have always thought I was healthy, but I wasn’t.  I love to eat and I loved eating unhealthy foods, what we call the Standard American Diet — lots of sugar, unhealthy carbs, dairy and LOTS of meat!  It wasn’t until March of 2006, when my mother passed away from cancer at the age of 58, that I started reading more about health and nutrition, about how we can make or break our body’s by what we put in our mouths.  My life changed when I read Kris Carr’s book, “Crazy, Sexy Diet”, and I understood more how our body and illness work.  I changed the way I ate and the way my family ate, focusing more on a plant-based diet, while eating the “other stuff” in moderation.  Since changing the way I eat, I have been able to keep my weight low, my energy high and my health great!  My kids are able to focus at school and they have endless energy.  I believe it’s important to focus on prevention, keeping our body healthy from illness so illness stays away.

I wanted to further my knowledge and help people get healthy, so in 2012 I enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

I am the owner of Norman’s Farm Market, a farm, roadside markets and one of the largest CSA programs in the DC area. I love cooking healthy meals for my family and friends with freshly picked produce grown right on our farm or a neighboring farm.
